More recently, Kirsch et al. [50] developed a rotary elastocaloric prototype using Ni45Ti47.25Cu5V2.75 wires. This device demonstrated a temperature span of 28 K, a COP of 8.4 and a cooling power of 250 W with 50 g of elastocaloric material.

Fig. 4 shows a schematic prototype of the rotary cooling device made up of wires. Tab. 2 summarizes key performance metrics of several recent elastocaloric devices.
