6. Conclusions
The aim of this study is to showcase the inventive application of cement-based materials in energy storage and conversion. This involves showcasing successful case studies like rechargeable concrete batteries, cement-based thermal energy storage systems for concentrated solar plants, energy harvesting with thermoelectric geopolymers, and the advancement of radiative cooling concrete. In essence, leveraging concrete for energy storage and harvesting marks a notable departure in our perception of this adaptable material. It holds the promise of playing a pivotal role in steering towards a more sustainable and renewable energy future.
