5. Conclusions The present study illustrated a large parametric analysis carried out to determine the structural demands induced by different EV loading schemes in terms of both bending moment and shear actions over 720 simply-supported girder deck configurations designed according to the different codes and standards in force in Italy from 1933 up to now. A calculation workflow was outlined and results in terms of L3EV coefficients were obtained. The outcomes of the analyses outlined how the year of the design, the span length and the EV loading scheme are the most impacting variables. A fast transitability judgment format based on the comparison of the structural demands was proposed in order to provide infrastructure owners a way to get a preliminary fast assessment of the actions acting on the structural elements of the girder decks due to the transit of the EV loading scheme, and thus identify the most critical bridges requiring further detailed assessments following the classic semi-probabilistic safety check format.
