3. Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis Due to the severe degradation conditions of the specimens, numerical analyses were performed to predict the undamaged conditions resistance of the beams. The analyses were processed using the software VecTor 2 (Wong, Vecchio, e Trommels 2013), based on the Modified Compression Field Theory (MCFT) (Vecchio e Collins 1986). Also some simplified models for the corroded specimens are proposed. Table 2 and Table 3 show the longitudinal reinforcement properties chosen for the different models. For the concrete only the compressive strength value of about 44 MPa was specified, other properties values were chosen as default values. For the stirrups, the section reduction in corroded models has been taken with reference to Table 1.
