territory into 4 zones according to the horizontal acceleration with a probability of exceedance equal to 10% in 50 years. For the first three zones a municipality was chosen to define the seismic scenario: for zone 1, Reggio Calabria (Table 3); for zone 2, Sirmione (Table 4); for zone 3 Pavia (Table 5). For all zones, topographic class T1 and soil type B were assumed. In Figure 6, the assumed design spectra for the parametric analysis are represented.

4. Results By applying the proposed procedure, for the three pile heights and three seismic scenarios, the results summarized in Table 6 are obtained. For each seismic scenario and for each height, the target acceleration, the as-built acceleration, and the equivalent substructure acceleration are reported; in the last two columns the results of the check of the first and second conditions are presented.
