These results concern the “V” geometrical damage form. It is seen that the response of damaged blades is completely different from that of an intact blade in amplitude and phase. The amplitude of the dynamic response of the damaged blades is higher than that of an intact blade. On the other hand, it is seen that when the damage length increases the amplitude of displacement of the blade tip increases by some thousandth millimeters. For damage positions near the blade root S5 and S8 (Fig. 14 and Fig. 15), it is easy to assess the damage length from the dynamic response of the damaged blade. However, for the case of damages near the blade tip “S17”, it is difficult to assess the damage length, see Fig. 16.
