Abstract Based on the analysis of failures occurring in agricultural sprayer structures, it was found that boom frames and tank failures are caused mainly by mechanical failures. Methods for calculating the service life of agricultural sprayer tanks are still not yet developed sufficiently, especially when considering the influence of various factors. The first of these factors is the influence of the tank fastening elements on its stress-strain state. The mathematical model of sprayer tank loading for the most typical method of its fixation on the machine frame is designed in this paper. The influence of supports and bandage-type tightening devices on the shell, as well as the weight of the working fluid and the effect of excess pressure for its displacement in order to carry out the technological process by the sprayer, is taken into account in this model. The results of calculations of the tank stress-strain state are given for the experimental sample of the small-sized sprayer. © 2024 The Authors. Published by ELSEVIER B.V.
