The paper analyses the influence by the location of horizontal ties on the deformability of the basin bottom and determines the optimal scheme of tie arrangement. The paper analyses the influence by the location of horizontal ties on the deformability of the basin bottom and determines the optimal scheme of tie arrangement. A finite-element model of the bottom of a floating pool was used to conduct the study, which allows obtaining numerical values of the deformation parameters arising under the action of loads. The research was carried out for different schemes of horizontal connections at their constant stiffness for all variants of placement. In particular, it was found that the use of horizontal ties can reduce the deformation of the bottom of the submersible pool. The optimal location of the ties was found to be in the zones of maximum deformation of the bottom. The work helped to determine the ultimate deflections in the bottom of the floating pool, which allows to select the optimal design parameters to ensure maximum durability and service life of submersible pools. The results obtained can be useful for the design and operation of floating pools. Therefore, the study about the mechanical behavior of the pool bottom and its impact on the durability of floating structures is an important task in this research area. © 2024 The Authors.
