The research was carried out and the problems of ensuring uniform strength of welded joints during the production of band saws made of 65G steel were determined. Mathematical models for optimization of technological parameters of butt contact welding of small cross-section parts have been developed. The influence of annealing time, heating time and temperature coefficient on the quality of the weld was established, and possible methods of improving the strength of the joints were identified. Technical recommendations have been drawn up. © 2024 The Authors. Published by ELSEVIER B.V.
