• In semicircular notch (D), the application of the heat treatment indicates greater influence on higher fatigue life, while in hole notch (O) it had a greater impact on lower fatigue life. This aspect requires further examination with fracture surface and defects analysis; • The effective homogenization and stabilization of the residual stresses induced by heat treatment contributed to the improved fatigue strength; • The modified version of SWT parameter used to predict the fatigue life showed strong correlation between the predict values and the experimental results.
