The microhardness measurement was carried out on the same cross section used for microscopic analysis. The bottom region showed a hardness of 257±7 HV0.3 and the top zone 238±7 HV0.3. This difference can be attributed to the morphology and grain structural changes observed. That means, a finer microstructure presented a higher hardness.
