For the posed problem, a mathematical model is written. Its solution is constructed on the basis of a special method that allows one to represent the functions related to the shapes of the contacting surfaces as separate terms in the final formulas for contact stresses. This representation of the solution allows for efficient and accurate calculations, even when the functions describing the coating thickness and bush profiles are rapidly changing. © 20 23 The Authors. Introduction In many, even the simplest mechanisms, one often meets the problem of assessing the strength and durability of units in which structural elements are contacting. To assess these parameters, it is required to have complete information about the distribution of deformations and stresses at the points of contact and about the relative behavior of the contacting bodies. In such calculations, many factors should be taken into account: the mechanical properties of bodies which, among other things, can change in time, the modes of operation of the mechanism, the presence of wear in the interaction areas, etc. The described problems belong to the fields of mechanics such as the mechanics of contact interaction and tribology. Research in these fields of mechanics finds application not only in mechanical engineering but also in construction, instrument making, and medicine.
