The results of MD calculations for aluminum and a comparison of the results for copper and aluminum for the single edge plates are shown in figs. 6 and 7. Figures 6 and 7 show the similarity of the stress distribution at the top of the notch in samples made of two different materials and the similarity of the atomic distributions with stress distributions given by analytical and numerical solutions of classical fracture mechanics.
