Samples with GF and CF (Fig.4 c-d , respectively) adhere less tightly to the elastomer and, according to the test results, showed lower strength. Fig. 5 shows diagrams of Shore A hardness and wear resistance of rubber samples based on SKD-V rubber and rubbers with reinforcing layers.

The hardness indicators of elastomers with the addition of a reinforcing layer (Fig. 5 a ) are on the same level with the original rubber, the changes vary in 1 conventional units. This is due to the fact that the reinforcing fabrics are soft materials and they do not greatly affect the hardness of the sample. According to the results of abrasion (Fig. 5 b ) of samples with the addition of a reinforcing layer of BF, GF and CF to the surface of the elastomer, a significant decrease in the wear resistance of materials covered with fabrics is observed. The volume abrasion of the samples compared to the original elastomer increased from 4.1 to 5.8 times and reached 0.131 cm 3 for BF, 0.172 cm 3 for GF and 0.136 cm 3 for CF. The inert properties and high stiffness of reinforcing fabrics in contact with other materials have an impact on reducing the resistance to abrasive action of large particles. In the process of friction of the composite material, the destruction and delamination of the reinforcing layer from the surface of the elastomer occurs. Fig. 6 shows micrographs of the surface of the samples after tests for abrasion resistance.

When comparing micrographs of the friction surface of the original and reinforced samples, one can observe a rough surface of the SKD-V sample with traces of grooves from the abrasive and a wavy surface for reinforced rubbers. On Fig. 6 b-d , fragments of BF and CF fibers are clearly visible. However, no traces of glass fiber after abrasion are observed in Fig. 6 c , which may be due to the low wear resistance of the SKD-V sample with GF (Fig. 5 b ). Presumably, during abrasion, fabrics made of carbon, glass, and basalt fibers are destroyed on the abrasive surface and then fall off.
