It is difficult to assess the material strength due to the complexity of biaxial tests and non-obviousness of the obtained results, especially in the case of biaxial loading in the out-of-plane direction. The aim of this study is to compare simplified experimental methods for determining the interlaminar shear properties of composites under through-thickness compression. The combination of inter laminar shear and through-thickness compression stresses was varied in two ways: by changing the cut angle of cubic specimens and by loading V-notched specimens at different angles in a new device. © 202 3 The Authors.
