Strain gauges were used to solve the problem installed on the internal and external surfaces of the equipment. The operability of measuring instruments was checked during bench tests under conditions close to operational ones. An algorithm was proposed to determine the stresses at dangerous points of the structure. The developed technique was assessed during tests of a BN-type nuclear reactor. © 2023 The Authors. Introduction Due to the increase in the working parameters of the created power, transport, and special units (Babushkin S.V. et al., 2020), there is a problem with the development or improvement of methods and means of experimental control, providing information on the stressed state of the most loaded elements of such structures during bench tests Application of a full-scale strain gauge to study the stress-strain state of structures subjected to the action of a liquid-metal coolant at high temperatures Maslov S.V.* Blagonravov Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of Russian Academy of Science (IMASH RAN), 4 Maly Kharitonyevsky Pereulok, Moscow 101990, Russia Abstract A technique for studying the stress-strain state of structural elements exposed to an aggressive liquid metal with temperatures up to 500 °C was developed.
