Fig. 6. Results of high strain rate uniaxial tension with the use of magnetic-induction method

5. Predictive model for high-strain rate tension analysis The results of the experiments allow us to consider the magnetic-pulse method effective for studying the high speed deformation of metals, however, to assess the limiting capabilities of the method and the requirements for the magnetic system. A predictive model is needed that can take into account the influence of the parameters of the magnetic system together with the deformation process of the sample under study. Based on the problem of high strain rate uniaxial tension, the analytical model of the process was developed. In work Ostropiko et al. (2021) an analytical solution of differential equation (6) for uniaxial tension is suggested, and the following equation of movement is solved. Comparison of experimental data and results of analytical solution is given in Fig 8.

Fig.7. Dependence of the calculated strain (●) and experimental residual strain (■) on the magnetic pressure (left), estimation of the strain rate (right)

This model was adapted for a magnetic-induction method of uniaxial tension. The correlation of the experimental results and the analytical solution makes it possible to use this solution as a prognostic model that allows to formulate the requirements for the parameters of the magnetic system, based on the nature of the loading process under study.
