A mathematical model developed by the author belonging to the continuum mechanics of deformable growing bodies is used for the mechanical analysis of this process. The constructed solution of the corresponding to the model initial boundary value problem describes the stress evolvement in the coating additively created with the availability of an arbitrary program for setting initial hoop stresses in the material being added during the creation process. Such a program is used as the influence factor in the considered and solved in the paper examples of controlling problems on forming in the created coating the technological stress distributions with required properties. Some useful conclusions arising from the results of the problems solutions are discussed. © 2023 The Authors. Published by ELSEVIER B.V.
