3. Analysis of the results Numerical modeling was carried out for the presented systems and the dependence of the bone movements on the applied force was obtained, as well as the distribution fields of movements for different setups of the calculation model and different placement options of the rods were obtained. As an example, stress-strain states of systems with different rods placement options in volume setup in compression are shown in Fig. 6.
Fig. 6. (a) Standard; (b) Remote inner rods; (c) 75 degrees; (d) 60 degrees.
According to the results of numerical modeling, the stiffness value of the systems with different rods placement options was obtained, which is shown in Fig. 7.
Fig. 7. Histogram of stiffness of the systems in volume setup.
After analyzing the results, it can be concluded that the location of the internal rods at an angle to the axis of the bone (namely at an angle of 60 degrees) makes our system "Bone – RAEF" more stiff, and therefore the displacement of parts of the broken bone relative to each other under loads will be smaller.
