simulation, Darcy’s constant is equal to 1 (permeability=10 -12 m 2 ). This is used to describe a slow flow in a porous medium. The injection and production wells can be defined as well as the fluid stream function. Franc2D software (Cornell Fracture Group 2010) has been proposed as a FE based simulator for solid rock fracturing. The behaviour of notch cracks under the effect of boreholes is studied and described frequently, see Refs (Al-Mukhtar 2017; Al-Mukhtar and Merkel 2015). As compared with LISA, Franc2D has no fluid parameters. Nevertheless, the behaviour of crack propagation was satisfied with the experimental works from Refs (Casas et al. 2006; Meng and de Pater 2011). The crack direction in Franc2D was compared with fluid flow in LISA. 3. Fluid Mechanics Different physical analyses have been presented within LISA Software. The transient porous 2D-analysis was selected. LISA software allows for exploring the velocity and pressure distribution across the body. The velocity potential indicates the stream function and flow direction. The time step of 60 seconds, or 3600 seconds, has to be specified. In this study, due to the proposed parameters and rock geometries, the time is quite short. 3.1. Velocity Distribution Velocity potential is a mathematical way of defining flow, just like stream functions. The required time for completing the permeability indicates that the fluid distributes within the block (i.e., steady state). The velocity magnitude has been investigated with respect to time. The fluid losses in the continuous body of the block around the hole that represents the injection region at an initial time, then distributed around the hole due to the permeability, see Fig. 2 (a-c).
