3.4. Benchmark profile
Based on a study conducted by Liang et al. (2022) on the design of a new bionic bamboo tube for several compression load cases, the FE model was verified using a Universal testing machine. The test specimen is named as “BBT - 1” as shown in Figure 6. Axial compression experiment of the Aluminum 6061 -T4 cylinder tube was tested by a universal testing machine with a measurement range of 300 kN at room temperature. Then, the testing machine processes holes in the specimen by cutting the wire to process the inner cavity of the BBT-1 structure. Then, with computer programming, the wire-cutting process was carried out to complete the processing of the BBT-1 specimen. The BBT-1 specimen is placed on a rigid plate and compressed by the plate at a compression rate of 5 mm/min. The results taken from this study as material for validation are the hysterical results from testing BBT-1 specimens using a universal testing machine.
