Fig. 10 shows a plot of the interfacial relative displacement,  w , and tangential stress,  , as functions of the abscissa, z , for three values of the applied couple, M , corresponding to the first three stages of behaviour described in the previous section. As can be observed, as M increases, the relative displacement in the end section of the reinforcement increases:
