TC2: Micromechanisms

TC2 is organising a Symposium at ECF24 entitled “Advances in understanding the mecha nisms of fracture and fatigue”, chaired by Andrey Jivkov, Andrey Shanyavskiy, James Marrow and Jaroslav Pokluda. The Symposium is dedicated to experimental and modelling approaches to understand and simulate the micromechanisms of materials' de gradation and failure. The main topics are: Expe rimental and computational methods for micro structure analysis; Microstructure, properties, and modelling of metallic, quasi-brittle, bio-materials, and nano-materials; Single crystal defect beha viour during deformation; Experimental and mo delling approaches at the atomic scale; Modelling deformation and fracture of polycrystalline mate rials; Micromechanisms-informed continuum mo dels for fatigue and fracture; Methods for bridging between length scales (LINK).

(2.3) Organisation of the Special Session on “Fatigue and fracture of eco-friendly, green and alternative structural materials” (chaired by Professors Camilla Ronchei (Parma, Italy), Daniela Scorza (Parma, Italy), Sabrina Vantadori (Parma, Italy), Andrea Zanichelli (Parma, Italy), Łukasz Sadowski (Wrocław, Poland), Grzegorz Lesiuk, (Wrocław, Poland) ) at the International Conference on Sustainable Development in Civil, Urban and Transportation Engineering (CUTE 2024), Wrocław, Poland, 14th to 17th October, 2024 (LINK) 3. Achievement of objectives (3.1) Organisation of the Thematic Symposium on “Experimental and Theoretical Fracture Analysis of Traditional and Innovative Ma terials” - chaired by Sabrina Vantadori (Parma, Italy) and Luciano Feo (Salerno, Italy) - at the 27th International Conference on Fracture and Structural Integrity (IGF27), 22nd to 24th Feb ruary, 2023, Rome (Italy) & Web (LINK) (3.2) Co-Organisation of the Thematic Sympo sium on “Fatigue Crack Growth – experimental, theoretical and numerical approach” - chaired by Grzegorz Lesiuk at the 5th International Conference on Structural Integrity (ICSI2023), 29th August to 1st September, 2023, Madeira, Portugal (LINK)
