Annual Meeting 18.02. - 19.02.2025 in Köln Topic: “Fracture mechanical material and component assessment: stress analysis, test methods and applications” Contents: The evaluation and avoidance of fracture and damage processes play an essential role in the construction and design of components and systems as well as for the development of materials suitable for use in order to ensure technical safety, service life and economic efficiency. The aim of the meeting is to provide information on scientific progress and modern technical developments in the fields of fracture and damage mechanics and to exchange experiences. Besides three plenary talks, Contents: Different numerical approaches for the simulation and prediction of damage and fracture were presented in talks and discussed in detail. The focus was inter alia on welded components, metal sheets, impact loading, rate-dependent effects and non-proportional cyclic loading. The results of the simulations were basically validated on the bases of experimental findings. Working Group Meetings “Fatigue” 5.05.-6.05.2025 in Dortmund 27.10.2025 online Joint Meetings with the DGM Contents: The meeting addresses theoretical as well as experimental work on the fatigue and crack growth in different classes of materials, from metals to ceramics, including contemporary topics such as additive manufactured materials or the impact of corrosion and hydrogen exposure. Working Group Meeting “Mixed-Mode problems” 9.07.-10.07.2025 in Freiberg Contents: Talks were given on theoretical as well as experimental and application-oriented topics. Various material classes are in the focus, i.e., fiber reinforced polymers, aluminum alloys and steel. The experimental investigations are predominantly performed under multi-axial loading conditions in both static and periodic regimes. Effects like crack closure, crack path stability and the impact of high temperature were discussed. On the methodological side, DIC, multiaxial testing and modern numerical methods such as the virtual element method (VEM) are explored. Advanced Training Seminar 23.02.2026 in Stuttgart Topic: “Challenges of hydrogen technology - Specific topics in fracture mechanics and component safety” Annual Meeting 24.02. - 25.02.2026 in Stuttgart Topic: “Fracture mechanical material and component assessment: stress analysis, test methods and applications” Working Group Meetings… … will be held 2026 on the topics “Mixed-Mode problems”, “Simulation”, “Fracture mechanics of welded joints” and “Material fatigue”. Dates will be announced. https://dvm-berlin.de/arbeitskreise/bruchmechanik-und-bauteilsicherheit Andreas Ricoeur 29 regular papers have been presented in two parallel sessions. Working Group Meeting “Simulation / Damage Mechanics” 27.03.-28.03.2025 in Munich Joint Meeting with ESIS TC8
