ESIS NEWSLETTER - December 2024
Given today’s interest in hydrogen as an energetic vector, and the maturity of some technologies becoming reality, the SteelyHydrogen forum in 2025 will again pay specific attention to the role of hydrogen in the global energy transition. Particular focus will be on material challenges.
• ESIS TC21 chairs Milos B. Djukic, Tom Depover, and Emilio Martínez Pañeda are members of the Technical Committee of the “Hydrogen in Materials” conference ( LINK ) which will be held on June 4-6, 2025, at La Rochelle University, France The conference is organized by ASTM International, ASTM Committee F07.04 on Hydrogen Embrittlement and supported by ESIS TC21 Hydrogen embrittlement and transport. The abstract submission deadline is August 31, 2024. The Conference on Hydrogen in Materials: 1. Co-chairs: - Dr. Jamaa Bouhattate, La Rochelle University, France - Salim V. Brahimy P.Eng. Ph.D., Industrial Fasteners Institute & McGill University, Canada 2. Technical Committee: - Prof. Eason (Yi-Sheng) Chen, Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU)/The University of Sydney - Prof. Hisao Matsunaga, Kyushu University, Japan
- Dr. Moli Sanchez Laura, French Corrosion Institute, France - Dr. Evelin Barbosa de Mélo, McGill University, Canada - Prof. Tom Depover (ESIS TC21), Ghent University, Belgium - Dr. Sriraman K. Rajagopalan, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Canada - Prof. Emilio Martínez Pañeda (ESIS TC21), University of Oxford, UK - Prof. Milos Djukic (ESIS TC21), University of Belgrade, Serbia.
This conference provides a forum for the global hydrogen embrittlement research and testing communities to meet and exchange ideas on the latest fundamental research, and advances in technology, and to consider engineering implications across all industrial sectors.
