Organization of the Inaugural International Colloquium on the “ Role of Applied and Experimental Mechanics and Advanced Materials in Empowering Future Progress ” hosted by University of the Aegean Chios Island, Greece July 24-26, 2025 . A TC10 meeting is planned, and the special session “Materials Degradation and Protection” is scheduled. 3. Organization a Thematic Symposium on “Environmentally Assisted Cracking and Hydrogen Embrittlement” and TC10 meeting – at the International Conference “ In-service Damage of Materials: Diagnostics and Prediction”, October 15-17, 2025 . Nikolaos Alexopoulos Olha Zvirko TC13: EDUCATION AND TRAINING The TC13: Education and Training will organize in collaboration with COST Action CA23109 Fatigue Benchmark Repository (FABER) the Summer/Training School Advances in fatigue of materials analysis between 2 to 5 July 2025 in Timisoara, Romania at University Politehnica Timisoara. Liviu Marsavina TC14: INTEGRITY OF BIOMEDICAL AND BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS 1. Technical Committee 14 "Integrity of Biomedical and Biological Materials" organised a Special Session within the framework of the 8 th International Conference on Material Modelling ICMM8 in London, UK on 15-17 July 2024 . Some 120 participants from 20 countries participated in this event. This biennial conference is the eighth in the ICMM series that started in Dortmund 2009 (Germany) followed by conferences in Paris (France), Warsaw (Poland), Berkeley (USA), Rome (Italy), Lund (Sweden) and Cape Town (South Africa). Presentations in the Special Session covered the following topics: • modelling of growth and remodelling in tissue-engineered cardiovascular implants; • damage-induced growth and remodelling in soft biological tissues;
• modelling mechan adaptation of trabecular bone; • hyperelastic and viscoelastic behaviour of soft tissue; • bioabsorbable Mg alloys for biomedical applications;
• impact of full valve deployment on patient-specific, asymmetrical, calcified aortic root; • effects of exercise stimulation on mineral density and mechanical properties at lumbar spine;
• mechanical properties of skin; • digital prosthetic socket design; • mechanical characteristics of different ankle arthrodesis.
2. Special Issue Medical Devices: Materials, Mechanics and Manufacturing was published in Medical Engineering & Physics (Elsevier) – see here . Guest Editors of this Special Issue are Prof. Vadim Silberschmidt (ESIS TC14 Chair) and Prof. Sotiris Korossis (both – Loughborough
