In the case of using traditional data in fracture mechanics, we will face the issue of transferability. In other words, the mechanical fracture properties, determined by measurements of specimens, are valid for certain stress-state conditions, mainly for plain strain states. However, in the case of real complex geometries, we have stress triaxiality, and we can be far from the stress-strain condition of the specimens. Hence, the applicability of the measured values is limited. For this reason and others, instead of using the J-R curve or J Ic , we can use a geometry and stress-strain field independent local GTN model to predict the pipeline's failure. The main important point is that we need to find reliable GTN parameters, so to reduce the time consumed during the determination of reliable GTN parameters for the pipeline, the artificial neural network ( ANN) was integrated in this study, and the results show that we can reduce the time of GTN parameter identification from thirty days to six hours. © 2020 The Authors. Introduction The design lifetime of most reactors in the last century is nearly done or over. However, there is always the possibility to extend the lifetime of nuclear power plants for a few more years, as Peter Trampus (2019) notes. To get approval from the authorities, the NPP leaders have to demonstrate the integrity of the nuclear power plant components. The main purpose behind this is to avoid an unwanted fracture because it might lead to more damage to society in terms of human lives and the environment. ' Ensuring that the nuclear power plants work at high performance means that all the parts are well maintained and in good condition. 23 European Conference on Fracture - ECF23 Damage Prediction of Ferritic Pipeline Using Artificial Neural Network Chahboub Yassine a* , Dr.Szavai Szabolcs b a PhD Student/Junior Researcher follow, University of Miskolc, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and informatics,3515, Miskolc, Hungary b Head of the Structure Integrity and Production Technologies Department at Bay Zoltan nonprofit ltd. for Applied Research
