Figure 3 shows all the P-S-N curves with a probability of survival of 95% ( = 95% ) for the nominal stress case comparing them all also with the design fatigue curves presented in the IIW and Eurocode 3 standards. The Eurocode S-N curve category 71 was also selected to limit the data even though it is exceedingly conservative when compared with the experimental data. The S-N curve was chosen according with Table 8.1 on Eurocode 3 Part 1-9 (European Committee for Standardisation, 2010). As for the IIW standard (Hobbacher, 2008), Table 3.2 was taken into consideration. For the nominal stress case, the Bayesian inference method provides the most accurate P-S-N curve since it is the less conservative and most fitting distribution for the nominal stress case with a probability of survival of 95%.
