In the beginning, total damage needed for micro-crack nucleation is calculated for
slip bands of every grain, using following equation:

where TDb represents a total amount of damage that is required for micro-crack
nucleation on a particular slip band (index b), where db is the length of particular slip
band.
Then in each stage partial damage for each segment of each slip band is calculated:
