Crack Paths 2009

C O N C L U S I O N S

F C G data under spectrum loading with three stress concentration factors were

interpreted by an alternative crack growth driving force considering both notch elastic

plastic stress field and gross net-section stress field. The mid F C Gdata was used to t K

validate the approach. The study demonstrated that the predictions of F C Gfor different

stress concentration factors at different load levels agree reasonably well with the

experimental results.
